Yamaha out of Dakar and official declarations from Top Management – by Tenere700.bike

I understand that this announcement took some emotional reaction on all of us… and after some days of reflection… here my personal point of view :

1. Dakar race actually lost the original spirit. Actually we find only prototypes and doesn’t exist anymore the dream to buy a motorcycle in the market..upgrade and be able to participate to that race.
2. Due to that also if you won the Race with your Prototype, you don’t have impact on revenue and sales to mitigate the investment done by the company
3. It is required a huge budget to participate to the Dakar,that close the dream to majority of the people

Reading the Official declaration of the Yamaha representative , there is a confirmation of that previous thoughts

I think that the Strategy to invest in Rallies ,where Tenere 700 and other commercial products can attend and win , it will be the successful one. It will have also impact on develop customer satisfaction,develop and sustain the dream to ride an epic and iconic motorcycle on all customers … it will bring more people to attend the rallies and finally it will sustain the sales and the revenue of the companies.

I hope that this decision done by Yamaha will be followed also by other Brands, i hope to see races where Tenere 700 and her direct competitors will compete in epic challenges …giving us a lot of fun and inspirations

I think that the right decision for Dakar’s organization it will be to open a category to that kind of commercial motorcycles with specific tracks…

let’s see during next months what it will happen…
